The system was upgraded to a tropical storm late Thursday night, with sustained winds of 40 mph, and gusts of 50 mph, according to The National Hurricane Center.
Opterrix’s proprietary forecast modeling is predicting landfall early evening Saturday.
According to the National Hurricane Center, “Hanna is forecast to strengthen and is projected to bring tropical-storm-force winds to the southern Gulf Coast of Texas. Heavy rains are expected in the area and potentially bring flash flooding.”
Hanna is the earliest H-named storm for an Atlantic hurricane season.
