Hurricane and tropical storm watches have been issued for the Gulf Coast as Tropical Storm Sally is passing through the southeastern Gulf.

The National Hurricane Center stated, “Sally is expected to produce flash flooding across portions of southern Florida and prolong existing minor river flooding across central Florida through Sunday.”

Sally is expected to move northwestward to the northern Gulf Coast and make landfall as a hurricane. The system is expected to reach the northern Gulf Coast early next week. Life-threatening storm surge and heavy rainfall are expected with the storm.
